We provide post-secondary educational opportunities to enrich the lives of community members in Pierre. You'll find a variety of non-credit options based on your interests, schedule and motivations for gaining additional knowledge. Courses are available both online and on our beautiful Pierre campus.
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
Geared towards learners age 50+ (though open to all ages), OLLI offers a wide variety of short-term courses where there's no grades or exams, just learning experiences with other curious minds. You'll find sessions about creative arts, languages, economics, math and sciences, yoga and more!
The annual membership is $100 which provides access to unlimited class enrollment all across the state of South Dakota.
Access a variety of short-term or single-session classes designed to enrich your personal life. From learning how to train your dog to learning how to speak Spanish, we have new course offerings each fall and spring. Instructors are local experts in their field who enjoy the opportunity to share their knowledge with community members. Class costs vary.

We encourage non-degree seeking students to take part in the campus culture. These non-credit options enable you to enrich education with the classes of your choice.
Visitor passes lets you learn alongside college students, as part of the South Dakota Board of Regents Class Visitor Program. Participants have the opportunity to learn by observing but will not earn college credit for attendance. Visitors may participate in class activities at the invitation of their instructors but will not complete assignments, tests, or papers.
The cost is $100 per semester and is on a space-available basis. There is a limit of two classes per semester. Apply for your Visitor Pass at the CCC Administrative Office on the second floor of the Wallace R. Halverson Education Building at 925 E. Sioux Avenue no more than two weeks before the start of the semester.
Non-degree students will learn alongside of college students and earn college credit though the credit isn't being applied toward a degree. Students complete assignments, tests and papers but will receive no grade. Please note, financial aid is not available for such classes.
You'll need to provide the following to get started:
- Registration form for the university offering the course (NSU / SDSU)
- If a course requires a prerequisite you’ll need to provide proof of course completion
- Documentation of your bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- An immunization form (NSU / SDSU) along with proof of two MMR vaccinations.
Online Courses Via Ed2Go
Enhance your future with the convenient, non-credit classes offered by Ed2Go. These stimulating classes are led by excellent teachers focused on your personal growth. Classes have a specific start and end date but no set class time, so you can learn when it works best for your schedule. Each course includes twelve lesson plans, interactive quizzes, assignments, tutorials and/or online discussions.
We offer drivers ed in Pierre during the spring and summer sessions. Our goal is to coach students to learn to drive safely and take all steps possible to avoid any form of roadway trouble in the future. We welcome both high school students and adult learners.
